Has anybody been following the Dan Plan?
Dan Mcloughlin quit his job to test the theory that if you apply 10,000 hours of structured practice to anything/any sport you can become an expert at it.

He picked golf.... having never played it before so was starting fresh.
He's done 6000 hours and he's gotten as low as 2 handicap I think.

But there's been no update on the website since August.
    http://thedanplan.com/

Anyone know if it's done and dusted?

There was a thread on it before, I'll dig it out for you.

We've moved on though, we're all following the fixdepitchmark 2.5 plan now!!! :)

I started watching it a few years ago alright. He started in 2010 I think and was on golfing world last week he's down to 3 now and has completed 6000 hrs (after 5 years ) must have plenty of money as he gave up his job. But it was a good account would of liken it to be a bit longer he was only on it for 5 mins. So he has to get from 3 to scratch left and 4000 hrs to do it! which is probably another 3/4 years great to have the time and money isnt it! :D

He hurt his back this year so missed most of the year from April to July before he was able to get back playing a bit.

He is an American 3... I followed him.at the start and quickly grew skeptical tbh. The American HC system allows for casual rounds, I think he got down to 8/9 before he had played his first competitive round which was mid 90's iirc.

He'll make a few bucks out of a book and doing the talk circuit once he does his 10,000 hours.... but I don't think he would make a good Pierce Purcell team at that stage.
