BVD ear tag back to front on pedigree bull calf

Tagged a newborn pedigree bull calf out in the field today, but did it in a rush because the cow was getting aggravated. It's the wrong way around now with the small part to the front. I wouldn't worry if it was one of my commercial, but as its a pedigree bull is there any way of rectifying the situation?

I doubt there's any reason to worry.

Again he's old enough to show you'll hardly notice it.

Only way is cut it off and order a replacement tag. Easier said than done

No need to worry I have done it on a few occasions with ped calves..the only thing that looks ugly on a ped is when you cut its ear and the ear splits

If a judge is going to dock you on that you'd have to ask yourself 'Do I really want to be a member of such a society'?:(

Funny, but I used to do this loads of times with commercial calves. I'd have the calf in the crate and all, but he'd move his ear. I'd go to the other side but forget to flip the tagger over. It's the kind of thing that would annoy you if you're a bit of a perfectionist.
Give him a few months, cut off the tag and order a new one.

I think the tags are designed back to front. It would make way more sense if the point was going to the inside of the ear where the veins are more visable

Its got noting to do with the judge the judge doesn't care about the tag. he wants his bull looking wright for the shows and you can't blame him for that. Cut the tag out and get a replacement, job done.
