Glass balustrade stairs

Hi, We're thinking of putting in a glass balustrade with our ash stairs. We have young children, 4, 2 and 6 months. Are we crazy? We love the look of it but are worried about the safety aspect of not having spindles to hold onto while the children are walking up and down. Any ideas or thoughts? Thanks.
