    Whats the issue?
Cleats won't fit on the shoe or you can't position it correctly?
Not sure what saddle height will have anything to help

the cleats position on new shoes wont match the old shoes as the holes are in a different position.the cleat is 1cm back as a result so was wondering if I needed to change saddle height or position

Are they spd (should have a channel to slide cleat forward or back) or spd-sl shoes (recesses in cleat allow it to slide forward

I can fit the cleat to the new shoe ok.it just that because the holes on new shoes are further back for the cleat when in position the cleat itself is 1cm behind the position it was on the old shoes

are the shoes the same size? I had this issue before but I had to change the shoes for a smaller size to get a correct cleat placement underfoot.
