I'm putting a new seat in the MF 390t, going with a KAB seat. Tried out both at the ploughing and the mechanical suspension impressed me. I don't have any experience of an air seat.Tbh I didn't see much difference between it and the air suspension one but I only sat on them briefly on the stand, there possibly would be a significant difference in work. Would people always go with an air suspension seat over mechanical if they had the choice. The mechanical one is €440 v €590 for the air one. Price wouldn't be the deciding factor for me.

Air all the way...you'll not look back...though would they fit in a 390 ??

An air seat and they having to pull levers everywhere to work anything :P

Yes, the KAB one can be got with the narrow suspension in both the air and mechanical.

If money was no object, air is the way to go.

Definitely air. You only have one body, so any chance you have of protecting it more should be grabbed.

Put an air seat into the 1394. Never looked back. We bought a grammar one. Great comfort

Air every time IMO, bought a spare X air seat here years ago for one tractor, still a comfortable seat(now it's no grammar but still ok) another guy got the mechanical version around the same time and I've spent fair time sat on both and you really would miss the air... Now I know the sparex seat is a pure budget job and some of the high end mechanical are very good but I'd still rather the air.

The thing with air is you get good cushioning still when you let the seat down a bit, where as if you do it with a mechanical I find if you don't get the same Spring out of it if you get me

Not sure of the proper term for this but the seats that rock back and forward are way more comfortable I find than the ones that are fixed solid. Grammar do a very good mechanical seat aswell I think. I always found it hard to get the right amount of air into the seats aswell, there would either be too much or too little in it.

you will give 750-850 for a good air seat with fore and aft adjustment as well as height adjustment.sears, kab and grammer all do fairly good air seats.i have two on an 8360 and a 8340.it is definitely worth giving a bit more for a higher spec seat.driving on the road a lot you will prefer more air in the seat to take the heavy bounce and probably less in a field, you can adjust to what suits yourself

the most comfortable seat I know in a tractor is actually a mechanical. It gives a lovely bounce.
