    Hi,

Just wondering could anyone recommend a good broadband provider around the Tulla Rd area. Moving from Dublin, so a decent speed with unlimited download is essential, so it will be needed for work etc.

If there is another thread somewhere on the topic, please don't hesitate to redirect me!

    Thanks
    CM

There's pretty much fibre to every home in Ennis at this stage so use anyone of the main providers, personally I'm with Vodafone, no landline and it's costing ~€38 per month, unlimited upload/download

    Not to be pedantic but...

There's Fibre to the home available in a very few select locations in Ennis.

Most houses in Ennis however, do have eFibre available. (Fibre to the Cabinet, usually advertised as 'Up to 100Mbps').

Vodafone do not do unlimited broadband, they have a 'Fair Usage Limit'. The last I checked it was 300gb per month.

Eir(com) do a couple of truly unlimited packages with no fair usage allowance. I'm not aware of any other provider who does this, but stand to be corrected.

Thanks for the advice folks, will most likely go with some sort of an Eir package!

Vodafone cap was increased from 300gb to 1000gb in March.
Pure telecom do unlimited fibre for €36pm

If you're getting TV service, you could look at a sky bundle too.

    Thank you.

I was with them for a few years, Had the 100mb unlimited and home phone. Found them better then eircom but the router they provide is crap so i recommend buying your own and asking them over the phone to help you configure it to connect to them. They're customer service is better then most also.

Magnet is the way to go if you can get it in Ennis.

The Fatpipe 100 is €57.99 and is unlimited.

    https://www.magnet.ie/products/fatpipe-100/

They also have a 24 meg package for €41.99

    https://www.magnet.ie/products/fatpipe-24/

No contract so if you are unhappy or are moving you can just call and cancel.

I don't see the advantage? Digiweb do unlimited efibre bundle for 49.95 a month that includes unlimited calls to UK / Ireland mobiles and landlines.

EDIT: Having looked at Magnet I really don't see the point. By far the worst value available. Even Eir(com) kicks their ass.

I would not recommend magnet, They are my current ISP but not for long. They took a month to install it and the connection drops constantly. Being able to cancel is not worth paying more for a connection that is at the best of times below average compared to other ISP's available.

The line to your address will be the same so eir, Vodafone, sky, basically the same.. comes down to the price and the router.. saying that all 3 of them now provide TV, with eir and Vodafone providing it via your broadband connection..

Now technically I'm wrong. . as Eir have enable 2 locations in Ennis for 1Gb fibre which is fibre to the home, this is soon to be followed up by Vodafone enabling similar areas with there own 1Gb fibre (siro)

Unfortunately Eircom don't list the estates etc. You have to enter a telephone number and check. Last time I checked the bigger / well know to me, estates I only found 5 or 6. Probably some more now but they seemed to do only estates immediately adjacent to cabinets.
