Hi all, anyone point me in the right direction for recessed LED stair and wall lights? Either online or retailers anywhere in Ireland/uk. I am trying to find fittings that suit installation in blockwork and use a standard or specific back box so that they can be easily installed and replaced if necessary. The better half has a preference for small circular lights but these tend to be quite deep and only suitable for plasterboard/framed walls...:confused::confused:

Try cp lighting http://www.cp-lighting.co.uk/Light-Fittings/Recessed-In-Wall-Fittings used them twice and seemed ok. You could just walk into a local electrical wholesaler and tell them what you want and if they are any good will produce a light fitting brochure from aurora or Philips or sylvania or robus...etc.....

Thanks Nukem, will try those - I have already asked the local wholesaler to have a look for me but nothing suitable so far, loads for plasterboard walls but difficult to find ones with a back box...I can get small circular ones but these will be a nightmare to seal for airtightness (these are nearly all on the external wall!)

I'm hoping to put these on the wall of my stairs as well (not an external wall)
It's a solid block wall. Can I ask what is a back box?

a back box is like what you would have on a standard switch or socket - something the light fitting is fixed to. The benefit in my case as some of them are on an external wall is that I can seal the back box in bonding or sand/cement for airtightness, then fix the light fitting afterwards. Another option I am looking at is to use a 25-50mm pvc conduit as a 'housing' for a circular light fitting - these dont seem to come with a standard back box. If its not an external wall then you should be ok, the back box does leave them much easier to fit though...
