Boiler Stove Help

    Hi Everyone,

We have a semi d with an inset stove in the sitting room. We find the heat off it to be pretty rubbish. We're thinking of doing up the sitting room and fireplace etc. and maybe putting a proper full body stove in.

However we have also heard of people getting boiler stoves in? And having them fitted to the existing cylinder to heat the water, rads etc. Can I ask you guys a couple of questions please..

1 - is it true that fitting a boiler stove to the cylinder would decrease the efficiency of the stove? i.e. should it really be fit to a back boiler? (we don't have one of these)

2 - is it necessary to fit the boiler to a dual coil cylinder if we were to take this route?

The semi d is of average size.. 3 bed with attic conversion. 9 rads in total (includes rad in sitting room itself)

    Any help much appreciated!!!!

    Thanks
