Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What teams constantly let you down?

Dunno if your allowed these general discussions on football betting or if its of any interest but sure I'll create it anyway. As the title states, what teams are consistently the bane of your life? Who always seems to let you down in an accum and are expected to win comfortably? What teams do you now stay away from at all costs?

The two obvious one's you hear horror stories about are Arsenal and Spurs. I've only ever backed Arsenal once in a single bet which luckily enough came in. Have never backed Spurs. Leeds are another one who fcuked me up recently and consistently. Thought they improved their form at the end of last year, and despite a load of draws this year were actually playing well, but of course lose at home when you back them.

Real Sociedad and Rayo Vallecano would be another two who've consistently let me down. Away from home they will create about 40 chances each, get 65% possession and destroy a team. You go to back them at home and they won't create one chance. Happens alot in La Liga actually outside the big clubs. The form fluctuates so much it's probably the most unpredictable league for betting. Valencia will always show up with a 1-1 draw when you back them, despite dominating a game, creating loads and in a great run of form.

For me, another team I hadn't touched for about 2-3 years was Feyenoord. Definitely the standard-bearer for always letting you down. Drawing at home or losing to a bottom placed team away, they would simply never come in when backed seemingly. They've been alot more consistent in the last 2/3 years so backed them against Roda and more of the same, so won't be going near them again.

This year, Newell's Old Boys are the gold medalists of failure imo. Seen them a couple of times at the start of the season, they started well and dominated every game they played in. Turns out they are like Barca but without any strikers. Only wised up to this after backing them about 4 separate times and losing. Dawned on me too late that the couldn't keep being "unlucky".

I think a few other honorable mentions would be Shamrock Rovers (draw specialists), Besiktas, Dortmund last year, Marseille, Roma in the second half of a season, the two Milan's, Schalke, Dinamo Minsk, Panathinaikos, Barca in Ecuador. Team I always dreading coming up against in a bet was Evian TG. Maybe I'm just crap at betting. Anyone else?

Aberdeen screwed me over last year quite often but I was laying them.

Barcelona screwed me over when they were big favourites against newly promoted Hercules a few years ago.

I don't bet on big favourites anymore as a result as you need to bet too much cash to get a small return.

I have made a lot of money in the past 2 years by laying Liverpool - they are by far my favourite team to back against. They always seem to be under-priced and then get shorter on match day. I often think that LPool are subsidising my other football punting!

The 2 teams that always seem to go against my expectations are neighbours Newcastle and Sunderland. When I don't back against them, they always seem to lose but when I back against them they always seem to eke out a draw - it's driving me mad!

Perfect example of Liverpool being underpriced and being a great Lay bet coming up on Sunday. Anyone who thinks Liverpool (played last night, won 1 of last 7 in PL) are even money shots to beat Southampton (lost 1 of last 7, well rested) on Sunday needs their head examined! Absolutely stonking Lay bet at 2.12 on BF at the moment.

Blackpool, guaranteed to win or draw if I back against them, yesterday they won 2-0 and I had 7/8 on a btts slip, also while I'm here does powers acca insurance cover btts slips?

Spurs did in previous seasons. This one has been different - only lost once so far in the league!

Has to be Inter Milan for me... I back them they lose.. I don't back them they win... was waiting on a big acca to land and just needed undefeated Inter to beat Fiorentina at home... they get hammered 4-1...says it all !!

Liverpool odd-on everywhere to beat Leicester tomorrow - seems absolutely crazy to me. Leicester 3/1 for the straight win or virtually evens on the double chance. Another great opportunity to Lay the team that always lets its supporters down!
