As a new farmer over 40 would I need a Green Cert or equal to apply for any of the schemes available now?
If I farmed it as it is would I eventually qualify through experience or do I have to get the cert?
I inherited a farm recently that has been leased out for a long time and so I don't have a herd number.
    Any advice appreciated.

I am in roughly the same situation, get the ANC (Area Aid) payment and a small sheep grassland payment.

I just missed out on entitlements this year as I was not 'farming' in 2013. The departments definition of 'farming' is if you are registered on their system for grants! So even though I had stock and bought/sold in 2013, I was not considered a farmer! Hopefully next year I will qualify!

So I might qualify around 2019 if I started farming now?Just want to make a plan for the near term.
    Thanks
