Kodi issue

    Hi all,

Recently installed kodi on my Ubuntu laptop.

Its loads fine but none of the addons download.
I got to system>file manager and enter the repository url and i can see the available options when i click it.

I go to settings>addon>install from zip file>and choose the zip i want.

This is where it gets weird.

As soon as i click on the zip file the screen closes, it does not highlight the file and then give me the option to click "ok". It just boots me back to the addons menu.

If i hover over the zip file the url of the file displays at the bottom of the screen, the "ok" button illuminates and i can click "ok" but again it boots me back to the addons screen and nothing happens.

Just to rule out any oversight by me i checked the programes folder and the only option is "Get More" so its definitely not downloading anything.

I also manually downloaded the zip and tried to install from it localy and still nothing.

    Any ideas?

what Repo are you trying to install from all I can see from the log is fusion and you seem to have browsed successfully to the addon installer program..

I also noticed that you are using 16.0-ALPHA3, as it is Alpha status it might not be 100% stable and could have bugs still, your best advised drop back to a stable version such as 14.2 (15.1 is available but has some bugs to be fixed which will be done in 15.2 which will be released shortly)

    Thanks for the reply.

I noticed that to but wasn't fully sure of the version. I downloaded it from the xbmc/ppa repository as I thought this was for stable versions and xbmc/nightly was the one for beta version.

I'll try roll back this afternoon.

I tried 3 repos, none of them worked. I then removed kodi so I could do a debug on a fresh install and http://fusion.tvaddons.ag (i think) was the repo I used.

Looks to be working now. Couldnt figure out why 15.2 wasnt being found in the repo for stable versions.

Realised i hadnt removed the nightly repository so it would seem every time i was installing kodi (thinking it was from the PPA repo) it was pulling an unstable version from the nightly repo instead of a released version from the ppa repo.

    Is that possible?
