@DublinAirport: Crosswind runway will be in use @DublinAirport for the next 3 nights due to essential maintenance on the main runway http://t.co/s5n5ePN6TP
Runway Maintenance NoticeSeptember 21 2015 Certain suburbs of Dublin may experience a temporary increase in aircraft movements over the next four nights due to essential work on the main runway at Dublin Airport. The work, which comprises pavement repairs, surveying and refreshing of paint markings, forms part of the upkeep and maintenance of the runway system at Dublin Airport and is essential for the safe operation of the airport. The work is due to begin today Monday September 21 and will continue from 11pm to 4.45am each night until the morning of Friday September 25. For operational reasons this work, which is weather dependent, must be carried out at night. During the maintenance work, aircraft using Dublin Airport will land and take off on the north/east south/west runway known as R16/34. The flightpath used for this runway routes aircraft over locations such as Clonshaugh, Beaumont, Santry, Killester, Clontarf and the Dun Laoghaire/Rathdown area. Dublin Airport regrets any inconvenience that may be caused by these essential runway works. For further information please call Freephone 1 800 200 034

A non-event unless you are someone who has just moved into the area and never realised that the airport was two miles north. ;-)

Few weeks ago a colleague was moaning that they were "sending planes over the southside and not the northside" when using 34. Not realising they have to cross the northside after the southside.
