Their best sale in a while I think with fares for €14.99 on their longest journeys. Decent availability as well that I could see on the route I'm interested in.

I looked at a five different dates travelling to Killarney, and only once got the €15 option. It was for the latest possible train too!
This is similar to the City Jet cheap seats; there seem to be only a handful of cheap seats on each journey.

Seems to be some times available, the one from Dub to Beál Feirste is especially good if you can get it.

Try entering Tralee. I found loads of €15 fares for Tralee buy a Tralee ticket and just jump off at Killarney.

Obviously Irish Rail are getting fearful of the new Dublin coach routes from Killarney and Tralee

They are certainly giving not just Bus Eireann but also Irish Rail some much needed competition.

You can be fined the full fare for the journey for doing that because these are special offer fares and buying a cheaper ticket to a further destination and alighting during the journey is fare evasion.

There is no ticket checking on coming off at Killarney.

    That seems like madness!
So you jump off early and could face a fine!?
Nothing with Irish Rail would surprises me.

    What's usual advance price?

€20 I think on the premium parts of the network like of Kerry/Cork/Belfast .

€24.99 is the normal cheapest web fare between Dublin and Kerry. During the last sale earlier in the year, the cheapest Dublin-Kerry fare was €21.99 so they're going much further this time.

Indeed these are the lowest fares from Dublin to Cork and Kerry since the last €9.99 seat sale after Christmas 2013.

I don't find these particularly good fares. Good luck trying to get the early morning Dublin to Cork train for €14.99. And as for the return leg, there are no good times available @ €14.99. It was cheaper for me before this "sale".

I'm trying to get one for Westport-Dublin for tomorrow evening or Monday but I can't see where to buy them. If regular prices are showing does it just mean there's no available cheap seats?

You'll never get cheap fares less than about three days in advance.

You need to buy about 3 weeks in advance to get the best fares.

This is a big thing on airlines in the US.

But its also €15 to Cork/Kerry which is cheaper than usual.

I'm just looking at Wexford though, which sees a 50% increase on previous sale prices. Not going to compete with the bus at that price.

Seat sale seems to be back on again. Better on some routes over others.

Dublin/Limerick from 9.99 with availability on most services.

Dublin/Cork (fairly good availability) and Dublin/Tralee (not so good availability) from 14.99.

Presumably similar on the other routes but didn't check.

Interestingly though, these fares are even available to book for tomorrow.

We can thank the private coach operators for these prices clearly

website appears to be broken, it goes off to some blank page when the train time is picked.

Got Limerick -> Dublin return for €40 for 2, great deal as normally it costs around double. Thanks OP.

There is a separate sale on the Limerick-Dublin route to try to compete with Dublin Coach services to Limerick and Ennis.
