As some of you know I got an NTSC-J Dreamcast last week and I've a few concerns about it.
The guy I bought it from said he was running it on the Irish power supply no problem, but I can't tell whether the PSU has been swapped out for a PAL one, I cant find any decent images to tell them all apart so maybe some expert here could help me :D.

All the internals (stickers really) on google looked slightly different to the revision I have too.

That pcb is marked 85vac to 132vac so wouldn't seem suitable for the 220vac we have here.

Your man had no mention of using a stepdown with it so I'm suprised nothing is blown on it

It also has AC250V marked on it it (in white), though I'm a little unsure of which refers to internal voltage and which refers to supply voltage

Funnily enough, that's the one I saw first and was about to tell him it's grand to plug in :pac:

Nothing on the case there will be relevant if the PSU has already been swapped out. It's very confusingly marked on the PSU itself, with both 85vac to 132vac AND AC250V appearing. If anyone has a Dreamcast to hand, it'd help if they could post what's written on their PSU as the chord end

Ah the fabled 001 model Dreamcast...you should be so lucky :D I'd lean toward The Last Bandit being right here, as that's where the 50/60Hz is written...

I think it's the fuse "F1" that's rated for 250vac, seller must have used a step down I reckon or has really crappy ac supply !!

He gave me a round sky box power cable, didnt mention a stepdown to me or maybe he just assumed I knew I needed one.
Im leaning towards just getting a PAL power supply if I cant swap it for a PAL system, after seeing how easy the swap is.

You can pickup a small step down in maplins or airport shop for a few quid, size of a double adapter.

NICE ONE ! that little bit of saved money does go a long way, I think I have a yank power cord lying around too.
