New boiler and plumbing system - pressure dropping

Have just had a fairly major plumbing job done - new condensing boiler installed and extra zones added.

The pressure in the system keeps dropping off, from 1.5 bar down to 0.5 over a couple of days. The plumber tells me that this is normal as 1. There is air in the new system escaping through a vent and 2. A condensing boiler will cause this.

My question is how much of a drop would I expect to see on an ongoing basis - will I be topping it up weekly, monthly etc?

    Thanks.

I don't know where to start.
    1. A pressure drop once a year is normal
    2. A condensing boiler will NOT cause air
    3. The plumber should've vented the system
    4. Your plumber is an idiot.
    5. Get rid of your plumber.
Seriously though, as I said above, your plumber is filling you with nonsense and has no idea how a condensing boiler works.

I hope he hasn't gotten all of his money yet.

Did you get the boiler commissioned? Somebody who gives you that load of bull, makes me worry about how he left the boiler and heating system.

You have a leak some where. Check out all joints in hot press and at boiler. Check at all rad valves. If you are lucky you will find leak easily.

I am reluctant to tell you to get your "plumber" back, but if you have paid him everything, then get on to him.

Please follow site and charter rules. "Resistance is futile"

Thanks for the replies. I suspected as much...

Re the condensing boiler, he says it expels a little water which causes a pressure drop, any truth to this? The system has automatic vents in the attic. The rads have all been off the walls and most of the piping is new - so supposedly there's a bit of air still finding its way around the system.

Yes those boilers do have a condensate discharge but that water has nothing to do with the water in your rads.

You either have a heating system that wasn't vented properly (as mentioned) which can take a while to settle or your losing water (as mentioned) there is nothing else.
