I find Motley Fool analysis to be very shallow and mostly designed to sell their own products. Banks and regulated industries like they mention (National Grid and Santander) may pay decent dividends but can be poor in capital growth. The star dividend payers at present are the big oil companies, especially if you believe that teh forces of supply and demand will result in a rise in oil prices in 2016 or 2017.
