Hi, have just started vaping and have a few questions. Am using a 12mg strength juice - bought from eCig store called pure mist. Is it possible that the first few days you could be dizzy / have a headache - from stopping smoking cigarettes? I thought you would only get that from nicotine withdrawals but anyway I don't feel so good and thought it may be the vapour? Any answers much appreciated.

It seems to be part of the withdrawals from everything else in cigarettes, there're many additives and compounds (formed when smoked) that reinforced nicotine's hold.

Removing the other drugs from the cocktail is going to mean you only get hit with the nicotine as well, which is much different to a cig's hit.
    More caffeine-buzzy, less relaxy.

keep hydrated too - drink lots of water as vaping tends to dehydrate the body.

Got terrible headaches myself when I stopped smoking/started vaping. Thankfully they only lasted a couple of days :)

Im nine weeks vaping and still have a dizzy head when I vape plus headache. I wonder is my nicotine level too high?

Are you keeping hydrated? As said, vaping can cause dehydration.

You could be allergicked to Propylene Glycol, one of the ingredients in e-liquid.

Also, nicotine could be too high, yes.

Yes I'm drinking loads of water and in an effort to help myself I'm using VG juice with a while, so I guess I'll try lowering my nicotine.

I dont have any energy and my brain is foggy, I seem to be in a constant daze with very low concentration. Does anyone recognise this?

What nicotine level are you on? Actually sounds like you are stoned.

Sounds like you're putting way too much nicotine into your body.

Drop your strength, and use it less too.

Are you a member of Seanad Éireann?

Are you a member of Seanad Éireann?

Two problems with this thread. Bad jokes when someone is looking for genuine advice and giving advice without adding any caveats. While a lot of symptoms may be caused by withdrawal, too much nicotine or even an allergy to PG liquid nobody here can suggest any of it definitively and if in doubt you should always seek professional medical advice if symptoms persist.

I'm using 18mg, thought it might be appropriate as I used to smoke 25 cigarettes a day but now I'm not so sure. I've sent for 12mg.

Thank you mewso for your advice. I have already been to my Dr. took blood, etc. and thankfully all is ok, now I have to sort this problem myself. In the beginning I was terrible ill, dreadful naseua, so I changed to VG and felt a lot better. I don't want to weaken and go back smoking. It has to be the nicotine level, I hope it is. I'm going to keep trying anyway

How many different liquid companies do you use Star that causes this illness & at what power are you using with these liquids,I have noticed that if I use too low of power on some liquids,it will give me a funny head, for me,I push as much power as I can before I get that dry hit & it works for me...

I was on 20+ rollies a day and started on 18mg as well. Few dizzy spells but nothing too bad. Does sound like you are on a too high level though. What cigarettes were you smoking? If you were on Marlboro then 18mg should suit, but if you were on Silk Cut Ultra then the 18mg would be way too high.

What set up are you using? I was a 20 rollies a day smoker and 18mg was fine for me but I was able to change down to 12mg afyer 1 week with no discomfort. I was using a crap ego tank and ego clearomiser though. If I'd been using something decent I'd say 18mg would have been too high. Where are you ordering from? Do you have a shop near you that you could grab a single bottle of 12mg to check for improvements?

Just to suggest maybe get yourself a sample pack of different juices where you can alter the Nicotine and the PG/VG ratios completely. (cloudhouse vapour are probably the best option in this regard).

That way you'll establish v quickly what exactly is the problem. Plus you wont be lumbered with 100's of mls of unwanted juice.

Alternatively if you're based in Dublin head into the Vape Café on Capel St. where you can do the same as above without buying anything....

At this stage I have about 10 companies tried (I don't know if I'm allowed to name them here) Some tasted vile others not so bad. It was the terrible nausea that made me try 50/50, 70/30 and finally total VG liquid. The juice I'm using now is Virgin Vapor, they say it is PG free.
I have an Eleaf iStick 30w with an aspire K1 tank, I change the coil every five days. At times when I draw I can feel and taste the liquid and now that it is PG free of course I don't get as much satisfaction.
My husband and I smoked John Players Blue. (He had no problems or reaction when he started vaping, lucky him)
We have only two shops here, Wicked and Smooth Vapor.

I think that could be your problem. I'm not sure if I can name the shop, but I used to get wicked headaches off the eliquid from one of those shops. I stopped buying it eventually and I was cured.

But about headaches from quitting smoking & vaping in general - I also felt very drowsy and heavy eyes and flu-ish when I quit smoking and started vaping. It does go away. The symptoms are mostly from quitting the fags, for sure. That would happen without ecigs anyway. You would know this if you're a heavy smoker and have ever tried to quit. But it also could be due to high nicotine levels and not knowing when to stop.

An ecig does not tell you to stop, it doesn't burn out, so you can just keep going and going until you get wasted from the nicotine. That happened me twice when I was a newbie. There doesn't seem to be an easy way, you just have to learn how much you need.

Others have mentioned dehydration, but I have never found that a problem. I have always drank a lot of water though, even before I started vaping. So maybe that's it.

Oh I have another idea. Maybe your coils are burned to ****.

What setting do you have your istick 30w at? Could it be too high?

You have described my symptoms perfectly, drowsy, heavy eyed but with a headache and I cant seem to get any interest in doing my usual chores around the house.
I dont keep vaping as really I'm not able. I got a bottle of virgin vapor in 12mg
so I will give that a try.

Sounds to me like low vitamin B.
See your gp, or take vitamin B tablets, totally safe.

Also try to lower your nic intake, either by reducing the levels or the amount of vaping. See if that helps. Its very easy to 'over nic' especially on high level liquids. Leaves me feeling mildy 'stoned' and nauseous.

Aw lads this is driving me mad. The Virgin vapor filled me with gas, I had a lousy few days. I had to take motillium.

I dont know where to go from here. Ok I can drop my nicotine to 6mg but do I stay with VV. I feel I'm running out of options.

I've never heard of vaping causing bloating or gas.
Even ingested air would be of little consequence, no more than drinking a cup of tea.
Bread, beer, dairy, yes. Vaping, no.
Are you absolutely sure nothing else in your lifestyle is having an effect on you?

You are quitting smoking and your body will be undergoing a few changes, some of which as you probably know are not enjoyable.
Sweaty, chesty, sickly, headaches, acne. Quitting was not a good experience for me. A lot of badness was 'excreted'!

On the eliquid side of things I would only recommend buying quality juice from a reputable vendor. Anything from a flea market or shopping centre kiosk I wouldn't touch.
