I seen a youtube vid showing how to use 2 different lnbs on a bracket on the same 80cm dish
Has anyone any experience doing this ?

Unless you absolutely need it (no saorview) it isn't worth the effort as it only has RTÉ. No TV3 etc

Yeah, I did something similar in Galway and Cork. It is possible with an 80cm, it does work but not perfectly.
The signal on Saorsat is considerably weaker than from Astra 2. So you would have break-ups during heavy rain for Irish channels.
Some odd UK channels (not the main ones) would get break-ups as well.

This might be explained by the fact that there is nearly 20 degrees difference between the 2 satellites and they are at different elevations. The crowd on the video are pretty good, selling good stuff. I recently bought a 90cm dish off them and I was quite surprised by the quality and the signal I managed to get.

Is it worth it or not? Probably not. I did it because I wanted UK channels and Irish channels on the same receiver whilst keeping a good EPG for both.

I also think (don't quote me on that) I read in some thread that RTE is blocking broadcast of some sports events. This definitely doesn't make sense to me since they went all the way with a Ka-Sat system but I guess with Sky leading the dance, it may not be surprising.

    How that helps.

Thanks guys, think i ll be fitting a dome type aerial instead now just beside the dish, what i was looking for was a minimal impact since the dish and aerial would be on the front of the house

@dhaumi, did you use that gadget that is shown in the video?? And then you set up on 9east as the weakest? I have saorsat on a 78cm triax dish but need 28east as well. I have a triax multi lnb holder but that gadget in the vid looks neat.
