    still too early but let's open a thread anyway.
    Any signs of excitement yet ? ( from the stags / bucks ! )

    A few roars up the north so im told.A few younger red stags let a few rips out of them where im from but nothing to serious.

    Haven't found any rubs, which I usually do during the pre-rut season. But then again, haven't really been looking much.

    I did see two stags doing the usual pre-rut jousting at the beginning of the season. Nothing serious, just a bit of tapping/rattling.

    I think the sika are starting at it in one of my permissions. They have the same rutting patch all the time and are rarely seen until the rut starts, but he phoned early Sunday morning to say that there was a nice size stag down in one of his lower fields.

    I'll let ya know how I get on Saturday morning.

    Went out this morning to check on stag I heard night before nice ten pointer stag young enough but holding four hinds,wonder how long that will last when the big boys come to town

    an other few days id say i got a nice 14 pointer this morning.

    Nice 6 pointer sika I got Tuesday evening. He wasn't to dirty or smelly but I could here to other stags out whistling at the same time. I think it's still a little early doe.
