I'm currently looking to buy an item on ebay from the UK

The seller won't ship as it's collection only

Has anyone here used a courier service to collect an ebay item and post it to Ireland?

    Any advice please

    Thanks

It might be cheaper to get a courier to collect and deliver to a UK address (any friends/family over there?) and have them post it to yourself.

I've done that. but not have a company collect and deliver it here

Collection only generally means one or a combination of 3 things

    1. The seller does not have the time or energy or material to package up an item
    2. The item is not economic to send
    3. The item is not accepted by courier / postal companies

    Thanks for the advice

The item was a 32" TV in its original box

Generally, couriers will accept TV's although they will not provide insurance against breakage therefore the seller is probably thinking it is not worth the hassle and I tend to agree with him

Unless it was something unusual or rare, I don't bother with collection only adverts.
Why is the 32inch TV worth the extra inconvenient and cost to arrange a courier?
