Are there any good text books on matrimonial law?

    The Bible?

No, seriously, Alan Shatter's book on Family Law appears to be the book most practitioners turn to. I think it is quite out of date though at this stage. I am unaware of any more recent publications that could be of assistance.

Louise Crowley published a book on Family law in 2013 which is much more current than Shatter, but quite expensive. Alternatively the Law Society produces a manual on family law that gives a good, if basic, overview of the area but much more affordable

    +1 on the above post.

Also, on the odd chance you are perhaps facing marital difficulty and that's what has spurred this interest in 'Matrimonial Law' then the FLAC website has a number of leaflets which are very informative published on the key aspects. Very accessible although minimalistic.

Also citizens information website very informative.

Yes that's right, totally forgot that publication. The Law Soc Manual is quite good.

I don't know if its advice that appears in his book but showing up at night time at the door of a man whose wife disappeared and who has two nights in a row been called to Garda stations to identify a body (wasn't her either time) is not a good way to deliver separation documents.
