Halfords oil question

Hi folks, just a quick question regarding Halford's own brand oil for Vauxhall/Opel cars. Previously this oil specifically stated on the pack that it met the LL01 standard, meaning it was suitable for older BMW models like mine as well. I went to get some the other day, however, and I noticed it doesn't state this any more. Would it still be OK to top the BMW up using it? Basically, it's due a service shortly, but needs to be topped up in the meantime, the Vauxhall/Opel spec is considerably cheaper and I'm broke until pay day!

What kind of BMW is it exactly? And what year?

Right. Are you sure it's this stuff you're looking at? According to BMW the LL04 stuff is DPF-optimised.

That's the stuff, it used to say LL01 on the bottle, never thought of checking the website, doh! Thanks for that.....

Yeah, I looked at this stuff but that LL04 standard only came in later than the model I have, which specifies LL01, so if I don't need it, it's not worth spending the extra for it.
