Cheapest way to go from Dublin to Chicago (one way)

I need to go to Chicago next Summer, and was looking around for prices etc on Skyscanner. However I am aware that a lot of airlines offer sales a few months before your flight and since im going one way, I think i satisfy some of the terms and conditions of these offers. My luggage will be the standard fare of about 18 or 19kg, economy is fine by me (but if possible I will try and pay a bit extra for an exit row). Can anyone recommend a decent airline for this journey, or if people have done this journey for a real bargain, please share!

Sign up to Aer Lingus offers, United and American also fly the route direct from Ireland, because its a one way ticket you will likely be paying a hefty premium on the ticket as most operators prefer return passengers.

You may find it cheaper to book a return flight but just use the outbound leg.

OP, what is your visa situation with the US.

Travel on the visa waiver program requires proff of intent to exit the US no more than 90 days after your arrival.

So a one way ticket from Ireland will not get you in without proff that you will be gone in 90 days

Well i will be gone after 4 weeks but in the meantime i will be travelling down to Georgia and Orlando and flying home from there, hence the one way ticket. My ESTA is valid until 2017 as i was already in USA this year

you are aware aer lingus allow multi city bookings so you can price Dublin-Chicago-Orlando-Dublin with them on the website.

You don't need a one way ticket, you need an open-jaw ticket.
