Folks i ran the Frank Duffy 10 mile and today's half marathon, both fantastic events. During both races i felt really good cardio wise and my breathing was good, but my legs were in agony! Really painfull, groins, knees and quads.

It's really frustrating as it holds me back. Is it running shoes, lack of training - which is not great. Any tips?

Congrats on your runs. Im in the same boat. Ran today.. cardio felt great. But my god my knees. At the end i was still running but barely. Im not a big guy, 5'8 and about 10 stone. But after 13km i can nearly feel my bones in my knees bashing together. I stretch loads. On lead up the race and this morning too. Like you really holding me back. Love to hear comments and advice on this.

    ok a few pointers here,

    1. if still in pain tomorrow/day after go to physio/doctor.
    2. racing hurts.
    3. you are pu.shing yourself hard, this is a good thing
    4. you need to train for distance you intend to race.

    hope this helps
