Somebody incorrectly opened our lovely timber sash windows and now there are two gouges in the top of the top sash where the window lock dug into it.

What should I do to repair this? What product(s)? What method?

I need to get the paint reference from the manufacturer.

A two part wood filler sand it back after you fill it then prime and paint it.
