Changing coils

    Hi,

Is it bad not to change your coil if everything tastes okay? I know they say you need to change the coil every two weeks or so but mine seem to last for months with no change to the taste. This could be due to the fact that I only vape when I'm drinking, maybe three evenings a week (more or less:D), but still, is there any danger to using the same coil for months on end?

    Cheers:)

Nah once it's still performing ok you're good, those times are just a guideline or from experience vaping regularly on the one coil. Not unheard of for coils to outlast expectations, you'll know yourself when you need to change them

I have a couple of coils on an ego twist at 4.2 v which I use rarely & they are still working perfectly for more than 6 months & two more that I have connected to a PC is still working well after a year, the nicotine hit has gone though.

Cheers for the replies guys. Good to know that the few spare coils I have will last me a little eternity!

until you use same liquid and dont get em burned as in vaping till your nearly ouf of liquid or messing with vw/wolts.

Otherwise if used couple days a week, you could go on for month or so :)

Usual indicator would be coil Omhs going up,or liquid getting tarred with gunk when topping up.

I haven't jumped into the world of variable wattage and ohms (whatever they are) yet, happy enough to stick with my basic Janty until it dies, but one thing I do notice sometimes is when I unscrew the battery to charge it up and there's a kind of black ashy substance (probably black ash, then) that falls out onto the floor. Is that bad? This actually prompted me to change the coil although the taste was still okay.

if the coil is at the top on your tank, then its most likely liquid residue that leaks onto battery and gets fried, not uncommon to see if cleaning battery with tissue even on modern devices.
