Used Crossover Options

Hi, I'm looking for opinions on what would be a good crossover for my dad.

At the moment he is driving a toyota avensis. He is 65 and looking for a car that's easier to get in and out of (higher seats), but was also looking for something that's is as small if not smaller than the avensis.

He's still farming away so would need enough power to tow a small 2 wheel trainer with a couple of animals in it.

Annual mileage would be around 18-20,000 miles but that's decreasing year on year

Looking for something around the 2012/13 and budget would be less that 18k.
Can't see him buying another car really so longevity and reliability would be too on the list.

From a quick search I've come up with:
    Ford kuga
    Hyundi ix35
    Puegoet 3008
    Toyota Rav 4
    Opel Antara
    Nissan Quashai
    Dacia Duster.

So which would you choose and which would u knock of list straight away? Any of them majorily better than others? All advice greatly appreciated!

Subaru Forester. Best full time AWD system out there, this one is commercial, in budget if a bit older than you're looking for.

I'd look at the VW Tiguan.
The 2.0 TDI would be far more suitable for towing than the 1.5 engine in the duster/qashqai

For me it would be Sportage/ix35/Tiguan

I'd probably include the RAV4 too if 4wd was a requirement. I'm guessing it's not though if the Avensis is doing the job.
