    My Eircom contract is nearly finished & i want to switch to Sky Fibre, but do not want to use their rubbish router.
    I know i need to use Wireshark to get the username/password first.
    Has anyone here set up the newer Eircom F2000 successfully on a Sky line?
    I would like to know before ordering as i will go with Vodafone if it doesn't work.

    Haven't done it but the F2000 is NOT locked down. Skys hub is completely locked down(as you know) and Vodafones HG658 requires a HTML live-edit to change PPPoE/IPoE details. Theres no reason why you couldnt use the F2000.

    It should be pretty easy, I've one here that I flashed the stock Huawei firmware on, opens up all options for editing

    Was it easy to flash to Huawai FW or similar process to F1000?

    Simple, just install it, it's not locked down at all.

    where did you get the stock FW from?
    I have downloaded & installed Spark branded firmware & it seems to be the same as Eircoms, (i.e. no Port Forwarding)
    I cannot find any other firmware for it.

    Your issue is going to be getting the right settings, the username and password is very straight forward, but you will need the correct vlan id and one other value that I don't recall.
    Unless you can find a post with those 2 values, you'll be taking a risk. UK settings do not work, I have tried this with a Billion VDSL modem that I ended up having to return.
    I would not recommend switching provider on the basis of any "it should work" responses, and instead search for any posts that may have had success with another modem.
    I am counting the days until I can move away from Sky Fibre, all due to their hub.

    Thanks, but I already have the F2000 up & running on Sky fibre using the routers default vdsl settings.

    Vlan ID = 10
    Prioritization = 0
