Ive moved house, so is it possible that the box needs to be reset and a postcode changed? Any tips? What about signal strength or have things just gone back to front since I moved??

Please help - most of my channels say 'bad or no signal'.:(

EDIT: Ive retuned loads of times too...

Most likely a bad connection or mis aligned dish

yeah, had a guy out, who's gonna set up the record function as I could only set up the one cable.

He mentioned something about the quality and strength were back to front for where we are situated. (it was my partner who was home to let him in, as I was at work), but hes gonna come back and fix the new LNB for recording and change dish if necessary although he said dish looked fine.

He will fix the quality & strength if I can't :D

Anyone know how to get the signal strength and quality ratios to reverse? Quality is 100% and strength is 80%. Should be the other way round. Thanks

Quality is the important measure. Let the guy who told you they were 'back to front' sort it out, whatever the hell he was talking about ...

Lol!! Thanks . Guess I'll just have to let him do it. Was hoping a simple reset or even a retune with a different post code would sort it, but it hasn't. It's just as bad.

Maybe I'll do a course in Satellite Installations Lol

:) The postcode setting is just so the right versions of channels with regional variations get the prime spots in the EPG. It's nothing to do with reception, as the satellite broadcasts themselves aren't targetted at specific regions.

Thanks, I figured that when nothing changed. Was hoping to save a few pound before he called back...:o

If you do a factory reset so it recognises only the 1 cable input that should sort your problem. Press Menu button, go to Setup and go to Factory Reset, this will reset the system and delete all recordings on the box, when the box resets it will recognise only 1 input and will base all new recordings on this. You will be asked for postcode if you want the NIRL setup enter an NIRL postcode, if you want English setup enter an English postcode. If most channels are showing bad or no signal your dish is likely out of position too and will need to be fixed so might be best to sort this prior to doing anything else.

Thats really helpful, thank you. I had thought about doing a factory reset, but wasn't sure if I would cause more problems or not. I don't care about losing the stored stuff as thats well over 8 months old at this stage.

I might try the reset shortly altogether, as its a disaster anyhow. Sure he will be here by the wknd and no TV isn't the end of the world!! Lol

    Cheers, much appreciated.:D

A factory reset won't do anything for your signal problems &, if your box is a Foxsat model, as opposed to the newer HDR 1000 types, it won't do anything for single cable recording either, unless you install an external loop cable from LNB-out to LNB2-in.

There will be a second cable coming in from the LNB when the replacement LNB gets put up. Its only a single one at the moment from previous tenants.

Reset done, and Im 99% sure I have more channels showing than channels saying 'no or bad signal'......

Any reason why I only seem to get ITV + 1 rather than ITV (which has no/bad signal)? Same with Channel 4 and the +1 Ive got one but not the other, same as More4 and More4 + 1..... I find that strange!!

The Satellite guy is hoping to be here Tuesday. Better than the first guy 8 months ago, still hasn't shown up, so hooked it up myself! Lol

    Thanks for help guys!!

For people stuck with a single LNB feed, both tuners can be connected to the same feed, & while making a recording, this gives you a bigger selection of channels for viewing or making other recordings, than if only a single tuner was connected.

The channels & their +1s must be on different frequencies (transponders) to each other, & the viewable ones are managing to arrive at your receiver in good enough shape to be decoded, unlike the 'no signal' frequencies.
