Hi I think it would be useful to have a sticky showing people how to get ITV HD on Sky for the world cup (you don't need a HD subscription to get it, unlike Tv3)

    Go to Services, Add Channel

    Frequency 11.097
    Polarisation: V
    Symbol Rate 23
    FEC 2/3
    Standard DVB-S2
    Modulation Scheme 8PSK

    and press the yellow button.

TV3 HD has appeared on my Eircom Evision recently and it is working away with no HD subscription paid for.

Will TV3-HD be added to the Sky platform?

The 'SD' display is like YouTube at 240p.... It's not even as good as normal SD.

It's already there, if you have the HD sub.

    I don't.... Gawd damn it.

HD has been around for nearly 15 years..... Yet it's still a charged premium.

Exactly - it is high tme they just gave it to everyone. I think it is fairly cheap on UPC, but on Sky it is something like a tenner a month - no way!

If you don't have a TV package at all, what are the online options?

Is TV3 available online with decent quality and reliability?

    ITV also?

Yes, TV3 are streaming all games online. I have never used their player so can't really comment on the quality/reliability.

Only problem here is ITV4 which will cover some RWC matches live. It requires a HD subscription. If you manually add it it will be encrypted.

Yes exactly. ITV4HD will cover some games live which are not live on ITV HD. ITV4D requires a subscription and therefore can't be viewed in ROI.

ITV4 doesn't have any of the more high profile games though. Most of the most important games and all the knockout games are on ITV.

France Italy is the biggest game on ITV4.
I'd say that will be of particular interest to Irish fans too.

Yeah, I'll probably watch it but it's not something I'll be paying a HD subscription for.

If ITV's coverage is anything like last time it'll be worth getting the radio going for alternate commentary.

Evision provide HD versions of many channels by default so there's no need to upgrade with them.

Anyone know if TV3's 3Player streams live in HD? I'm in the USA at the minute and can't check.

Fairly certain the United game was in HD yesterday online.

I did all this and ITV HD came up. I stored that and then went to the 'Other Channels' menu in the Options menu but there is nothing there. My Sky box is fairly new, about 2 months. Have they prevented adding channels on the newer boxes or is there something else I could try?

    Just count ourselves lucky.

In the USA its $39.99 per match.

    Fcuking insane.

    SO I use a VPN.

Did you try storing all three of the ITV HD channels that come up?

They haven't blocked it on the newer boxes at all.

Just tried it again there and figured it out. What I was doing wrong was going to the 'Other Channels' section to try to find them. That came up blank which made me think there was nothing there but when I hit select then they all showed up. Stupid me perhaps :o but the software tricked me

Anyone know if you can add RTE+1 to a Sky box setup?
