Howdy, I've got a Miele washing machine, 9 years old never gave trouble. Couple of weeks ago it stopped filling and red light flashing in front saying check water inlet. Checked all the inlet filters and cleaned them, no joy. It would sometimes work and then other times no until eventually it stopped working altogether. I figured it to be the inlet solenoid and bought one from source, fitted it today and still no joy. Before anyone asks, I did a 6 month domestic appliance course with Anco in 76 so a basic knowledge. Any ideas ? all help appreciated. Bloody solenoid was €51. :(

Did you not think to test the solenoid ?

Check for power to the solenoid, no power then possible programmer issue, if you have power then I would check your new part.

And don't just test with a phase test screwdriver you want 230v, a lot of programmers switch neutrals so power will still show.

And the Appliance section would get you more replies.
