    Hi,

is there any way to locally go to an office to request the permit?
i'm afraid i wont receive it in time if i apply (sending by mail and all).

Just wondering if there is such things as local offices where to go and get it issued directly?

    Thanks!

What country are you going to? If it's the US/EU or English speaking you won't need one.

Humour us and tell us where you're headed :) I think it's possible that such a rule could be intended for holders of licences from more exotic regions with different licencing regimes to ours. The first thing I'd be doing is emailing the companies.

Firstly, I'd still email them and ask anyway. An EU full licence from another RHD country is a very good start and it wouldn't surprise me if they'd accept it.

I got my international licence from the AA a few years ago. It was a stamped paper book that supplements your licence. I don't even think it had my photo. It took a few days to arrive but was a straight forward process. It seems like a pointless piece of paper to me, tbh and when I was away, I was never asked to produce it even once.

    Good luck.
