This is a bone of contention with me.there is no law I can find that states a given acerage needed but the NPWS work off a 100 acre rule(ask me how I know !!) It doesnt make sense as you could have 40 acres puking with deer and 1000 acres with a handfull only, but they will grant a licence for the 1000 and not the 40.
Now if you want get legal with them that might be a different story. But when I first started out I had 80 acres full of deer and they refused me a licence, told me to get another 20 acres.I rounded up another 50/60 acres that had a tiny amount and got my licence issued.I have since got 1000s of acres but when you first start off getting those first few permissions can be hard.

put down the folio numbers of all your farmland and it should be fine once it makes up 100 acres.. if thats a no go im sure you no a few neighbouers farms beside where the deer are that could give you a letter
