Ever have one of those days? A really, really tough day? I had one today and music came to the rescue. What does it for you?

A long long walk....or anything that can help distract me and get a better sense of perspective.

The Velvet Underground? Yeah, great tune.

For me, just the comfort of being at home and relaxing.

    Or Coco Pops :D

Exercise while listening to good music and then a warm shower and a meal while watching a good TV show.

Get home, get into comfy clothes, make something really nice for dinner and watch something good on telly. Tea and chocolate usually follow.

    A walk by the sea.
A hot bath and then a slow dance to whatever John Creedon is playing on the Radio.
A really great film (though they are rare enough). Closely allied to this is a solo outing to an empty cinema to catch the last showing of something, where I can be on my own in a big room with a big screen :)
Being actually in the sea. Tossed about by waves.
    Crying and surrendering.
    Poems.

A long run or cycle into the countryside to empty the head.

Why porn of course, music too, sometimes a sleep, sometimes a charming friend

Exercise helps...out on the bike on a country trail, feel great afterwards.

A good movie, Thursday online special at the cinema, went to see Legend last week...great to get lost in a good movie.

Books...love reading Jack Reacher or Charlie Parker series

Music...listening to my old favourites or trying something new on Spotify.

Even better if you get a day where you can combine the lot..

American chat shows like Conan can be good if they have a decent guest on, like Bill Burr or someone. I really miss Letterman of late. Was always a good way to pass at least a couple of hours a week. Old TV shows on YouTube like Porridge, Fawlty Towers, Due South, Minder etc always cheer me up too.

The gym, nothing like a session of lifting to focus the mind.

Probably sounds a bit stupid, but I'll drop 2 or 3 Valium D5s,roll a spliff, fill my hipflask with a splash of rum, harness up my doggie and walk a few miles along the beaches of north county Dublin. Works wonders for me.The music I listen to also varies, last Sunday was the kinks, next week it might be the Happy Mondays,or perhaps some gilbert o sullivan or The jam.I like to mix it up a bit.
