Boiler Not Working

Hi all, I'm looking for some advice regarding my Vekera Mynute EHE boiler (5 years installed). In order to get the boiler to ignite I have to open the cover assembly that has the viewing glass on it (seems to be air flow related) once opened the boiler works. I've always had issues with the pressure differential switch which I resolved by blowing into the silicone tubes to activate the switch and clear any debris but now it doesn't resolve the issue anymore. My question is would I need to replace the pressure differential switch or could it be related to another issue?? Thanks in advance

The plastic inner tubes are blocked probably from a spiders web or something foreign. Venturi tubes I think they are called...when was it last serviced.

Hi Mad M, It was serviced last year but there was always issues with this boiler since installation, I'll take them Venturi tubes off a see if there is anything obstructing them if that doesn't work I'll call in a plumber thanks for your replyðŸ‘

You need to call in a RGI at this stage
The boiler is unrepairable by the user as this is gas works and illegal for anyone other than a RGI to carry out

Thanks for your input Robbie G but I'm not going to pay to have an RGI to blow in my pipe:) when I can do it myself

I called out an rgi once who didn't impress me with his approach or knowledge - we yes we eventually sorted out the problem - the only thing pro about him was his nice billing paper and price tag.

I know gas is potentially dangerous but I hope the op has a better experience of rgi than I did...

Rgi training is only 12 days and until recently no trade experience was required added to which Rgis are not policed on the quality of the work they do or prices they charge, so it's the perfect trade for those who wish to use the Rgi banner as a platform to get home owners to trust them and part with their hard earned cash, this type of Rgi has done a lot of damage to my trade.

But this doesn't mean that there are no good Rgi's, there're loads giving value for money and at times fixing things for free or giving credit if the customer is stuck(but that you don't hear about often).

So just because there are bad Rgis doesn't give a green light to home owners to touch a gas appliance as it's still illegal and at times dangerious to do so.

I find it funny when through ignorance a APS fault is put down to spiders or those pesky foreigners, The APS is a very important safety device and you shouldn't be faffing with your boiler.

Now I believe in natural selection so normally those who wish to faff cos it's their God given right don't bother me but as it's now illegal to faff with your own boiler I have to tell you Enda says leave it alone.
