First thing is they usually have a decent enough trial period but you need to make sure to do the cancellation request a full day early or you'll get charged for a year.

The registers they currently have are solely from national schools that no longer exist and have no children born after 1915 so may not be the most useful.

I have used up my trial and have had a previous subscription

1870- 1890s I had a couple of relatives in Trinity I was hoping there would be access to those records before i bought the subscription

Debit card and a second email address worked for me...

Has anyone had a look at these? What information do they give? Do they cover all the religions?

I've been playing with them a bit.

Multiple religions. Typical example has name, address, occupation of parent, age last birthday and when admitted to the school. I've found several ancestors.

That is several more than I. I’ve searched - the FMP school records do not contain a single child with my surname (using its 4 main variations) – I suspect that the usual FMP marketing BS has been employed, and it is not a complete transcription. “Results for Ireland National School Registers 0 results”
I'll try the maternal line later.
@Neon - The TCD records are in Alumni Dubliniensis which was published in book form and copied by FMP. It also is available online here from TCD.
From memory they stop about 1860. I was in contact with TCD Archives (very helpful) to get details on an early 1900’s student and the info I received was minimal – they had very little as he did not graduate ( joined up, WWI)

It's not a full transcription, the first major exclusion is nothing still open. That excludes most towns etc

    Thanks L,
Very misleading advertising. I should have read FMP's small print detail (and studied their obtuse language!)
"The schools covered are generally smaller, more isolated schools or ones that catered to a dwindling faith group that closed long ago and contain a broad mix of religions and backgrounds."

Most people don't have Quaker ancestors that attended a long-closed mixed-religion school in Ballybog.

Thanks. I'll sit on it for a while before I subscribe.

    Free this weekend remember.

Bog all of use for me it seems, unfortunately. However, one advantage here - because they were written by teachers the few records I've found are written beautifully for once. Even the hardest to figure out one took about a minute of learning what way they joined a few characters.
