Currently I have a wdr3600 bridged to the huawei gateway, I was thinking of getting an archer and came across this, http://uk.tp-link.com/products/details/cat-15_TD-W9980.html#overview

Would this work properly if vectoring gets enabled? I'm DF to the exchange.

The Archer is lots better, it's 802.11ac 1900Mbit, than one is only dual band 802.11n 600Mbit

That's what was turning me off it. I only have 30 mbit broadband now and never really have any need to transfer anything on my home network but I suppose it's better to be looking at it than looking for it haha.

Exactly this, wireless is shared frequency, each wireless radio in a router will only talk to one device at a time, in one direction at a time, either send or receive, not both at the same time like a cable. For this reason to be any way futureproof you want dual band and want it as fast as possible so transmissions are shorter, data gets there quicker.
