Meistersinger Watches

I see Weirs on Grafton St have the Meistersinger range now, nice display in the window
Very distinctive single handed watches for any one who doesn't know them..

I had a look at a few there yesterday in the hand/on the hand, very impressed.

Not mad money, although not cheap, (2k sticker on the classic instrument face with single blued steel hand), and they actually do a pretty competitively priced quartz option on the Neo model which is very affordable (By Weirs standards anyway ;-) )

    Interesting watches.

I've been eyeing that brand for a long time but with no AD here I've not done much about it. Must take a look next time I'm in town. Although I dread going into weirs as I find their staff appalling.

I know what you mean, to be fair though, the lad I dealt with was Italian I think, he was very helpful.

Interesting looking watches but I can't get my head around dropping 2k for an ETA/Sellita movement. Legibility is an issue with some of them also.

Maybe so on the movement, not sure. They do have that quartz version, 550 euro :-)
Window shop in Weirs and buy on C24 or similar maybe!
1k ish or thereabouts seems to buy one online.

Thought legibility was very good actually, these were the first I had seen physically. I do like them.

The lad in the shop was saying there is marked interest in the brand amongst architects and design people.

Interesting. The uniform over here for such people is the Max Bill; always brings this to mind.

I think Mondaine is another brand that has a following in that world.

Actually a parallel question for another thread maybe, do people think are there specific watches and brands that associate with certain professions/jobs?
I wonder do pilots for instance really lean towards a watch with aviation pedigree? I suppose it comes down to whether they have an interest in watches generally.

Cast member of the *insert name of action movie that taste/intelligence forgot* - 60mm Panerai

Still think the 44m Panerai are lovely though.
