Whats the feelings here on Drone usage

Commercial operators of DJI's etc should by law have training a permit and annual license which is quite expensive.

It looks as though there is no enforcement whatsoever and they are being used commercially by anyone and everyone.

Before I buy, and the cost of licensing is the biggest factor, are the Aviation Authority turning a blind eye or waiting til there's an accident; or is it a case they won't bother policing these at all.

At the moment there seems to be no one policing but serious costs/permits supposedly required and lots of operators using commercially without any hinderance

I use my Phantom 3 without a licence for commercial stuff - I just make sure not to fly it over busy roads. Be responsible. Mine is mostly on private property though.

Hi - What is the procedure on getting a drone licence in Ireland?
Do you have any links to costs and exams involved?

    They're covered by aviation authority

Had a look there a few times - registered my drone etc
    - but apart from one page of rules - the info seems mostly aimed at the larger aircraft - is there a forum or something somewhere where the current reasons you need to be licenced are and how to get the licence?

My company sells some software that can use drone footage - currently we use stock images for demos - but I think it might be fun to skill up and be capable of doing live demos with real drones.. so just looking for advice where to go to see what licence would be necessary and how to get it.
