Every town in Ireland has the legend ! He is the man that owns the pub, great gambler, massive street fighter, in tricky situations he outwits ! Local events he is there to officiate, he consults with both cops and robbers let's hear it for the local legend !

Nope, no legend in our small town. Your scenario doesn't resonate with life here at all.

Knickers; crazy woman who screamed at her dogs

Chicken reilly; sold the herdild on the street corner - fag stuck in mouth

Ethel; legend on a postcard - everyone called honeybunch

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

I think you are getting confused with Taffin, the fictional character played by a young Pierce Brosnan.

If you don't know who the local legend is, it's you.

Ah, that explains it. Was racking my brains here and coming up with nothing.
Right enough, when locals see them they do tend to whisper to each other as they point at me.
Always wondered what that was about, cheers.

Every small town also has a local wackjob who sometimes doubles as the town's 'legend'.

The lad who was great at sports. This guy was the next George Best, we all knew it. Got trials at one of the big English clubs but he was mad for the drink and now he's an alcoholic.

Can be found in every bar from Delhi to Dublin - the sport varies, the outcome doesn't.
