Just received my Thomson Technicolor tc7200 modem router from UPC…..ok
Connected it up and away I go??????????
Started connecting stuff to new modem.
First wired 4 ports connected………….ok (Laptop ect)
Then to WiFi - Kids stuff Phones Tabs ect……..ok

Now connecting all products to router I MAC address everything.
I only allow known MAC addresses to access my router (MAC filtering).
I have a program on my laptop (Who is on My Wifi)
and one on a Samgsung Tab3 (Wifi inspector Pro)
that checks for threats/incursions into my home network.
Run these programs and I find “a unidentified computer on my network”.
Vender Thomson (of unknown computer) connected to my network.

Now I rebooted – reset password the router – It’s still there!
Now disconnected wifi and all ports except the wired connection
to my laptop, again rebooted and reset password – It’s still connected

NOW on my home network I have Router and my Laptop
    and a Thomson (unknown).
Tried to MAC/IP filter out Thomson unknown --- Could not.

Rang UPC and they say “Can have support @ €1.50/min to fix”

Has anyone else noticed this on their systems,
a IP address given to something in the in the Router

    :confused::confused::mad:

Wouldn't be something to do with WiFree?

I have only Home phone and BB. (No TV)

Would they (UPC) not have to tell me if it is that!

Asked on 1908 and Guy seemed to say it was the programs i was using!
to check the wifi were not working.

Why would it get a IP inside my firewall' on my House Network?

Has anyone else checked to see if there new Router has allotted a IP
to something else on the network..... eg Thomson (unknown).

Thanks ... this is bugging me!!

It.may just be the VOIP ATA, or its rrsponding to its own ARPs. Either way it really doesn't matter.
