Re-taxing a 4x4

I have a commercial reg Pajero I've had for a number of years, firstly for business, but I don't use it for that any more, business is gone. Is it possible to re-reg it as a private vehicle (and yes, pay the full whack tax)?

Or if I'm changing it for another commercial, can you just tax it privately? I like having a 4x4 just for having, using for hobbies with a load of gear, do a bit of offroading, carrying household bits. How would I go about that? Hearing a load of horror stories about lads getting stopped or their insurance leaving them out in the cold because they're not using it for business any more.

Failing that, anyone fancy a swap of a 04 pajero 3.2 LWB for something 4x4 a bit smaller and private taxed? :-)

Tax it commercial like the rest of the country.
Insurance usually covers you for Social, Domestic and Pleasure.
Just be up front with the insurance company. Should be no issue.

    Job Done.
