If I buy tickets off someone for an event and pay them through PayPal and for some reason or another I don't receive the tickets have I got a chance of receiving my money back through PayPal?

    Hi :)

Unfortunately tickets are not covered under the buyer protection within PayPal so if they are purchased through PayPal it won't allow you to create a case if you do not receive them.

If you're purchasing electronic tickets, there's no Buyer Protection, you are assuming all risks. This is outlined in the User Agreement.

If the tickets are tangible meaning they can be shipped, tracked and insured if applicable, then you would qualify for Buyer Protection. The seller should send you an invoice with a description, this provides documentation that shows you are purchasing a tangible item. (If the seller simply asks you to use the Send Money feature, don't go there as this is how many scams start.)

To ensure that you have additional protection, pay with a credit card. Should you end up in a dispute and for whatever reason, you don't get your money back, then your next option would be to contact your card issuer for assistance - it's possible they can do a chargeback for you.
