I just bought 7 heifers about 18 months old! The guy says they have just been injected with alfaglandin because they were with a few bull calves and seen one rising! He assures me this injection will abort any that were in calf and so they are ready for my stock bull! Anyone confirm this for me? Will they come into heat after this injection and how long after ?

Provided some time (10-14 days) was left between them being with the bulls and being injected then they should be empty provided they weren't more than 4 months in-calf at the time of the injection.

How long it takes them to come into heat will depend on where they were in their cycles when they got the injection. Basically all that are bulling should be in heat within the normal 3 weeks.

The fact he injected them all without scanning won't fertility problems?

No problems. Some respond, some don't, no deleterious effects to either really provided not far on.

No. This is often used to synchronise heifers. Will be no side effects. All should bull the same day. As said between 10-14 days after injection.
