Eircom have put up a website for ultrafast and the idea is you put in your number and voila it will tell you if your line is suitable.... but wait. In order to get FTTH your house will need a fibre optic cable so you will know yourself anyway!!

Or am I missing a trick. When you do check your line it switches you to efibre, it does not say your line is or is not suitable!!

    A devious trick or what.

    And why include the phone?

They are just checking the address to see if a fibre runs past it outside on the Street.

Your phone number gives them the area.

The area, if enabled will result in a yes, if not enabled yet, a no.

I just got an appointment for the installation. Crew will run a fibre in the duct to my house from the joint box outside. Eircom are promising 1Gb. I am getting phone, Tv & broadband will report back on progress.

Did you pick the install date online when you ordered because that date doesnt really mean anything.... unless you are an existing Eircom Customer.

If not it could be another few weeks, I picked a date online when I ordered online over three weeks ago. That install date is gone and past now a week ago and still no firm install date yet but hopfully this week
