RTE are showing the intermediate and senior camogie finals on tv this weekend (anyone know if the premier junior final will be streamed???) and I think its only right that the ladies should have their own thread for their signature matches of the season.

    Senior: Cork v Galway 4pm

    Intermediate: Kildare v Waterford 2pm

    Premier Junior:
    Laois v Roscommon 12pm

I will be a curious onlooker rather than someone with knowledge of the female game so if anyone could throw light on where these matches could be won or lost and on any players we should look out for I would be grateful.

Threatened to turn into a good match early on as you always knew Waterford would come back into it, but there's a danger the Deise will run away with it now.

Did the camogs get rid of the countdown clock and give timing back to the ref?

Appeared to have done so yes, there was no horn anyway.

so far so good from Cork, perhaps should be a few points more ahead. Gemma O'Connor clearing a load of ball at centre back

Pretty drab affair so far! 16,000 in the crowd, surely this should have been played in thurles.

The camogie finals are always played in Croke Park.

Would have been a great idea to have this on the same day as the u21 hurling final. Shocking crowd turnout.

Think this event, like the club finals, is a real missed opportunity by the gaa. They should drop the price and aim to fill up the place, would make a lot more atmosphere.
When I looked a few years ago tickets were €20+.

Tickets were €25 if bought in advance and €30 on the day today.

Nothing to do with the GAA though, the Camogie Association runs everything to do with the camógs.

Poor day out for Camogie, not an advertisement for the sport, though the Cork camógs could probably beat the Cork camáns at this stage :P.

Obviously a nice moment in a very difficult time for Gemma O'Connor watching her interview, not a nice time for anyone so big congratulations to her.

25 quid for 3 finals is hardly outrageous. well done to Cork today, great display and great to have some good news in Cork GAA

Nothing to do with the GAA though, Camogie Association a separate organisation from the GAA.

Yes, and very very staunch in their division from the GAA they are too, painfully so. They want all the handouts and help from the GAA that they can get but don't want to bend on anything themselves. That said, that's not the players' fault and I have nothing against them.

I listened to some of the radio commentary on the senior final this afternoon.

I couldn't help notice the commentary team always used 'players' instead of girls/women.
For example, "The Galway players need to mark the Cork players much tighter", whereas in hurling/football it would be "the Galway men need to mark the Cork men much tighter".

Please don't tell me they are adhering to some PC edict.

Who was the co-commentator in the Kildare-Waterford game? More than a few times referred to Kildare as Wexford.

same as the senior game, Therese O'Callaghan
