Hi I was hoping to wire a sensor to a light and also have a switch wired to the same circuit. Basically I am hoping that when the switch is on the light will stay on and when the switch is at off mode then the sensor will kick in. Would anybody have any basic wiring diagrams to do this.

Most motion sensors have an override function by turning the switch on,off and on again so if you wire the permanent live through the sensor and run a switch wire to the switched terminal of the sensor it should do what you are asking.

I'm trying to find one of those PIRs with the override function, It's not eazy find now, has anyone come across a rand that has that function lately. It must also have 180 deg min lens and capable of outdoor ceil mounting. I don't ask for much!

I just use a two way centre off switch so you can have PIR actuated or override, or off.

Don't fancy trying to run the extra cable out to the light, it's mounted on the soffit. Still looking for the PIR with override, it would make things a lot easier
