Single or cohabiting?

Hi, can someone offer me advice?
I've moved in with my girlfriend in 2012 but we decided to break up in 2013. We're still good friends but because of our financial situation, we decided to share the house we are renting.
Recently I finished a ce scheme and my payment was delayed and referred to the sw inspector.
She classed us as cohabitants and my question is, should I have been classed as this were only friends? We share bills, etc but we both are single individuals who do our own thing and sleep in our separate rooms.

I want to adhere to the rules of the social welfare but my payment is a qualified adult rate and I like to know if I have the right to object or are they correct.

Any information about cohabiting couples implies that the two people living together are in a relationship.

You can appeal the decision and put your side of the situation on the appeal form.
