So i'm not 100% with the processes involved in using this equipment. so I may be making some glaring errors
I have an adjustable eleaf battery up to 30w using it at 4.5 v
and an eleaf gs air tank.

Ive been using the same coil for a while but just got some new ones last night so I switch it out. they say gs air atomiser head on the box.

I put a few drops in before i used it, and it settled for a while. When I tried to use it it had the strong burned taste of an empty device. it is about 40% full. I switched it out for another coil but it was the same

I left it sit all night and most of the day, I've only used it about 4 times today, but the flavour wasnt as strong as usual.
I tried it again at home just now and it has the strong burnt flavour again.

    Any thing I can do?

Did you put the juice directly into the coil? If you did, put the liquid into the juice holes around the coil instead. Just one or two drops in each hole will do.

What wattage/volts are you running it at, could be too high

there are 4 thin slits on the side, put a drop on each, left for 1/2 mins and did it again. left it again still with a burnt taste

    4-4.5v 10,5w 1.6 ohms

Yeah, on the side is right for the coil. Try bumping down the watts. 4.5 v = 22.5 w. Those coils can only go to 20 w. Even at 20 w it will give burnt hits every time. I always ran mine in wattage mode, found 10 / 15 was the sweet spot. Do a few primer puffs, to help with the wicking!

display is reading 4.0v 10w or vice vera in the other mode
22.5w is 6v on the display

if it goes much less than 4v there is barely any pull.

This is very odd, my gs air worked perfectly, left the coil to soak/prime or whatever, used a similar wattage and I was good to go, I would say it could be a dud coil but if you're getting it from all the coils I'm baffled

I'm not trying to make you feel stupid, but watch a youtube video of someone priming and using the tank and make sure you're doing it the same way, least then you can be sure it's a dud

4.5v isn't always 22w. That depends entirely on the coil being used! OP says it's running @ 10.5w.

Have you primed your coils, OP, or just left them to soak?

I'll watch a video again later but if primed the coils means put a few drops on and let it sink in for a few minutes then I did that. If it means something else then nope I did not.

I tried it again this morning there was no strong taste but also no flavour from the oil. Which it's the same as I was using before I switched. I'll see how it goes today

Also there was a plastic ring around the top of the new coil which I removed but still have.

I assume I take that off as it wasn't on the old coil.

After you've put liquid on the coil, filled the tank and left it to soak, block off the airholes with your fingers and take about ten pulls from it, WITHOUT turning on the battery. That's how to prime it.

    Liquid, not oil. Never oil!

Put the ring back on the coil, that sounds like a seal you've removed!

I haven't seen or heard of dud coils for the GS Air as yet. Where did you buy them?

I only mention it as Ive been stung with fake kanger and aspire coils in the past.

    Not sure what you mean.
Are you referring to the use of the word oil or the product is incorrect? I've been calling it oil, is that not correct?

The ring seemed out of place and wasn't on the coil I removed and isn't on any images I could find online. I'll put it back on when I'm home

Yeah he means Oil is a word he doesn't like, I'm of the same opinion.
But what does it matter really? e-liquid, oil, juice, all the same, its not smoking.

Back to your issue, I don't know what the GS uses in its its coils as a wick, if its cotton, its a bin job, once brurnt its impossible to fix. If its not cotton then you might get it back with a good rise in hot water and let it dry before rejuicing.

When priming, there are so many ways and no one is fool proof.
I like to drip juice into the 'slits' until it simply stops soaking. i.e. saturated.
I then vape on low power and gradually go up to where its satisfying, I find each coil and each juice is different, ever so slightly, so start low and slowly go higher.
Some like to put the whole coil into juice, some like to suck the bejaysus out of it to get the juice into the thing once assembled. It sounds to me like you only put a few drops on, let it sit for a good while and then vaped on high power. No wonder it instantly burnt. You learn from these things. We've all done it or worse.

Of course, it could just be a dud coil, it happens. Not too often these days I think, but it still does. I had a Kanger authentic subtank coil go after a day (it didn't taste right even when working). Mostly I get up to a month out of Kanger coils. Meh, it happens.
