Is This A "Lee" Trailer?

My Dad has had this trailer for about 40 years now. Looking a little worse for wear, what with all the rust:o, but it gets the job done. Always wondered what make it was, because it seems quite well made. It's a 3-way tipper, depending on where you put two bolts.

Anyway, I saw an article in the Journal 2 weeks ago about Lee trailers of Wexford. It's looks pretty similar, what do you think? The floor in it used to be timber but was replaced (and needs to be done again:D)

Ya I think it is, with the ball on the top of the ram.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

Yes there is a ball at the top of the ram. Is this unique to Lee trailers?

May not be unique but given its age it's a strong contender to be a Lee trailer as they spearheaded that 3 way tipping

We've (speaking for myself, Reggie) just been around machinery for too many years, heard a teagasc lad calling someone in a discussion group a connoisseur of machinery :( think the fixed costs were a bit high there.

I don't think it's a Lee. Any single ram Lee we had, had the ram on the front of the trailer body. All of three stage ones were doubles. Box iron pivots on the back of the tipper I don't think so.

Edit; Paddy Lee is from Waterford. Yard is a couple of hundred metres from the dog track in Kilchoan.

This is the picture that was in the Journal. There does seem to be a fair few similarities http://www.farmersjournal.ie/WEBFILES/236124-187729.jpg

Also there is a small bit of grey paint on the chassis which seems to tie in with the above picture

I stand corrected. Didn't read the op carefully enough. Never registered the bit about three way tipper. Seems very similar. Only difference I can see is the pic from the comic the chassis is channel iron whereas yours seems to be two channels welded together.

For a definite answer give Paddy a ring he's still doing a bit according to the oul fella.
